Williams is small, but its students are among the strongest anywhere, and on a campus this tight a few committed people can shape the whole community. It just needs a founding team. If that might be you, we help with mentorship, curriculum, and a path to funding. All free.

Why Williams.
Williams draws some of the strongest undergraduates in the country, and its computer science department sends students on to top graduate programs and technical careers well out of proportion to the college’s size. On a campus this small and this tight, one committed organizer can shape the whole community. That is exactly where an AI safety and alignment community belongs. Right now there isn’t one. Amherst, a fellow Massachusetts liberal arts college, already has a group; Williams is a gap on the map.
What you’d be starting.
A real group
A reading group working through alignment research, a cohort running an AI safety fundamentals course, or a technical team building projects. You decide the shape.
With support
Mentorship from organizers who have run these groups, a ready-made curriculum, and help finding co-founders and building a site.
And funding
A path to funding through the Pathfinder fellowship, for speakers, food, compute, and the group’s activities. Free to you, always.
