AI Safety at Boston College

There isn’t an AI safety group at Boston College yet. We’re looking for the people to lead one.

Boston College sits in one of the country’s densest AI and tech hubs, with thousands of technical students who could build a serious AI safety community. It just needs a founding team. If that might be you, we help with mentorship, curriculum, and a path to funding. All free.

Why Boston College.

Boston College sits in greater Boston, one of the world’s deepest concentrations of AI research and the companies building frontier systems. A technically capable student body next to the industry actually shipping these systems is exactly where an AI safety and alignment community belongs. Right now there isn’t one. Neighbors like Harvard, MIT, and Tufts already have groups. Boston College is a gap on the map, and someone gets to be the first to fill it.

What you’d be starting.

A real group

A reading group working through alignment research, a cohort running an AI safety fundamentals course, or a technical team building projects. You decide the shape.

With support

Mentorship from organizers who have run these groups, a ready-made curriculum, and help finding co-founders and building a site.

And funding

A path to funding through the Pathfinder fellowship, for speakers, food, compute, and the group’s activities. Free to you, always.

Could you lead it?

Twenty seconds. A few quick questions so we know where you’re starting from.
